M’Ocean Song.
The Pirate House Evolution
INTRODUCTION
The transformation of our family home into a space to host retreats and trainings is fully underway. We are creating this as a space for healing and transformation for ourselves, our families and our community of friends and clients.
Now is the time to raise funds for some final pieces to make this space fully functional and beautiful. Will you support us?
THE IMPULSE
After years of trying out different venues and setting up events all over New Zealand, we have been dreaming of a simpler solution for bringing our offerings to the world and creating a hub for our community.
Now we have come full circle: What we have been looking for is right here, in our home at Tui Community in Golden Bay
THE VISION & FACILITIES
The Pirate House will be a place for us to run workshops and trainings, and it will also be a place for YOU to come and connect with yourself, with others, and with nature. We intend to make you feel at home.
It will have a beautiful training space, dining area and kitchen facilities; a garden full of delicious food; plus accommodation for up to 15 people.
Here, we want to a grow conscious community who support and grow together.
THE JOURNEY

We started in July, and within the last 6 months we started with earthworks, a shed, drainage, lots of digging to create the space for the first sleep out and coaching Room. In the meantime we also did lot of landscaping and bringing the big garden back to life.

It has brought so much aliveness and community into the space to build, paint, concrete, garden and cook with you.
The Hero’s of the project are Jay as the creator, Martin with his steady beautiful attention, Sanne and Des for the kick off, Theo and Marty with showing up and growing up in it.
In the last 6 month we had so much wonderful support. In all the different building weeks different people showed up to build with us. Martin has been steady and supportive with his steady energy that a deep friendship has grown from a place of community living.
For many weeks by our side we had Sanne and Desmond dreaming and starting the project with us and living together to unfold this dream such a gift and commitment thank you for showing up and kick starting this dream. A surprise that touched me deeply has been the support of my two son’s Theo and Marty learning building skills and becoming part of the project while their home was being taken apart.
In the preparation as advisers; Surendra, Keith and Simon Grant to make our plans. In the first few weeks we had Max from Daimond Harbour spending a week with us carefully repairing some old French doors with his skills and bringing them back to life.
Thank you to Tui for allowing this project in the community to go ahead and for all the meetings with Levi, Robina and Inna to negotiate agreements. Thank you Sanne, for being on the team for the garden and for the growing of this dream.
Thank you to all the Tui’s that came out in building weeks, Tyson, Chai, Charlie, Robert, Robina and Josette and William cooking for us many Wednesday’s for lending your tools and your time. Thank you to Bruce who joined us for a few days wiring up the extension and bringing his skills. James has been a support for me and Jay to create more clarity and forward planning for future projects. Thank you Damiet for taking the time to carefully paint the windows.
Thank you to Aralyn for for being patient with me while I was picking her brain for the ‘right colours. Thank you Tristan for your ongoing support for this dream, lending us tools and bringing your skills. We also had a bunch of young people help out, often Theo would bring his friends, Madison and Mickey for a day of work and loud music and connection. It has been super fun to have the youth so much part of this thank you so much for bringing yourself and your dreams and connection. Thank you to all of you that I have forgotten. :-)
After the concrete cutting and foundations being laid the walls went up you can see the exciting process in the slide show. The top of the wall, a piece of art put together by Jay with his vision for lots of glass to let the sun in and beautiful round windows that he dreamed up using second hand tempered glass.
A outdoor kitchen was created to feed the crew while creating the new kitchen, many hours on planing and sanding where Theo and Marty my son’s learned wonderful skills, thank you jay for your patience in collaborating with them. The Kitchen uses so much beautiful local wood slabs creating a golden glow of natural energy in the heart of this evolving space. This has been a healing space right from the beginning, during the creation, during the building to the experience of the first meals now.

I have built this home as a family home and now that my sons are growing up I want to share it with others. I am ready to see it transform and grow into a resource for myself and the wider community. I am committed to creating the life and community around me and keep creating events and connection spaces.
Jason is a creative with the skills to build and make this space happen. Jason is committed to the vision of a conscious healing community that lives into the possibility of a regenerative and connected future.
